4 Steps to Fabulous Winter Feet

There’s a chill in the air, no doubt about it. It’s time to put those flip-flops and strappy sandals away and get out some footwear more suitable for the cooler weather. Cold, dry air is unkind to skin, especially feet. Before you slip into that favorite pair of knee-high boots that goes so well with that pink sweater and, take a little time to treat your feet so they stay soft, smooth and fabulous all season long.

Step 1: Exfoliate

Surface dryness is caused by a buildup of dead skin cells. The trick to soft, silky feet is to remove that layer and get to new skin underneath. You can opt for creams and brushes made to exfoliate or we recommend using Blinc resurf.a.stic Callus for the job. Blinc softens, reduces and eliminates calluses and brings to the surface beautifully touchable skin in one easy step.

Step 2: Moisturize

Because cold air is so drying, it’s very important to moisturize your feet properly. Apply a thick layer of a good moisturizing lotion such as Baronessa Cali Oliva Green Piedi at bedtime and cover feet with a pair of cotton socks. By morning, your feet will be so soft, it will almost be a shame to cover them up!

Step 3: Nail Care

Closed-toed shoes can create problems for long toenails. To keep toes from getting sore and keep ingrown toenails at bay, clip toenails once a week. Fall and Winter are a good time to try out some darker nail polishes, too. Just because it’s boot season doesn’t mean you can’t have pretty toes. Try Tweezerman’s Combo Clipper for keeping your piggies in perfect shape.

Step 4: Prevention

Cold weather shoes can sometimes cause blisters and pain. Anyone that’s worn a brand new pair of shoes for any length of time or had to sit with wet feet for hours after walking through deep snow understands this all too well. Try to prevent blisters by bringing along a spare pair of shoes when wearing a new pair for the first time. Keep an extra pair of socks on hand in the Winter so you don’t have to sit with wet feet all day. Your feet will thank you for the extra effort at the end of the day.
