5 Steps to Get Those Feet Ready for Sandal Season

Before you know it, sandal season will be upon us. After spending so much time in heavy socks and warm shoes, our feet are just dying to get out and breath. Unfortunately, they probably don’t look their best, so it’s time to get them in shape. Here is a step-by-step guide to whip them puppies into shape so they look fabulous in your spring and summer footwear.

Step 1 – Ready, Set, Soak

If you’ve kept up with the toenail polish throughout the winter, remove it now. It’s time to soak those tootsies to soften the skin and nails. It’ll feel wonderful for those sore, tired feet – trust us. Use warm water and add a softening agent like bath oil or bath salts.

Step 2 – Exfoliate

Use an exfoliating scrub like Baronessa Cali Panarea Body Scrub to slough away dead skin and dirt. It’s not uncommon for the feet to be neglected when it comes to exfoliating, but it’s just as important to help promote skin cell turnover and reveal healthy, softer skin. If your heels are especially dry and hard, use a pumice stone.

Step 3 – Mask It

Your face isn’t the only part of your body that can benefit from a mask. Masks exfoliate and revitalize, so chose one that specially made for feet and get to it. It’s not hard: just apply to clean, dry feet, wait 10 minutes and rinse.

Step 4 – Look at Those Nails

While nails are still soft from soaking and exfoliating, clip and file them. Clip your toenails straight across and then file the corners into a rounded shape. This will help prevent ingrown toenails. Use a nail buffer to give your toenails a nice shine.

Step 5 – Hydrate

Your feet have gone through the wringer over the winter. The dry air has sapped them of all their moisture, so rehydrate the skin with a good moisturizer. Massage the cream into your feet, paying special attention to the heels. Try any one of the Baronessa Cali body moisturizers found here for super-soft, radiant feet.
